The Bush dog is an incredible species that have an Interesting look. Bush dogs have a body length between 22 to 30 Inches long and weigh 11 to 18 pounds. They are around 12 to15 Inches tall at the shoulder. Bush dog are found In Central America and much of South America. They can be found In Costa Rica, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil. Bush dogs are a social species of wild dogs so they hunt together to take down larger prey. The Bush Dog is a carnivore It eats Pacas, Agoutis, Acouchis, and Capybaras. They also have been observed pulling out armadillos from their den and biting over and over again until Its exhausted and gives up. They also have been seen eating peccaries. It took a pack of Bush Dogs 3 hours to take down one South American Tapir which In my opinion Is Impressive for a canid Its size. A pack usually consists of 2 to 10 members. The Bush dog Is not built for running but It can run up to 16 miles per hour. The Bush Dog has a bite force between 150 to 200 PSI. Bush Dogs mate throughout the year with no specific breeding season. Each litter contains between 3 to 6 Individuals, but some litters as large as 10 Individuals! Bush dog pups usually open their eyes after 14 to 19 days. One Interesting thing about the Bush dog is scientists first discovered Its fossils and assumed It was extinct until actually confirming a living one.
