The Striped Hyena is native to north Africa, east Africa, and various Asian countries. They are the smallest bone cracking hyena. Adults weigh 49 pounds to 121 pounds and are 2.5 to 3 feet tall. The striped hyena is primarily a scavenger feeding on ungulate carcasses. This Hyena usually digs its own den but sometimes they will establish Its lairs in caves, rock fissures, erosion channels, and burrows formally occupied from porcupines, warthogs, aardvarks, and wolves.
