The Giant Panda is a large bear that is well known so let's dive in. The Giant Panda average adult weight is 220 to 224 pounds. Some males can weigh up to 350 pounds! The Giant panda can range from 3 feet 11 inches long to 6 feet 3 inches long. Giant Pandas are 2 to 3 feet tall. The Giant Pandas most iconic features is its black and white coat. The Giant Panda is native to China and nowhere else in the world. Giant Pandas are classified as carnivores, but 99% of its diet is herbivorous. Giant Pandas mainly eat bamboo, but they will eat small animals ( Rodents and Birds). Even though this is incredibly rare they will scavenge. The Giant Panda has an astounding bite force of 600 PSI and can run up to 20 miles per hour (in short bursts). Giant Pandas are terrestrial spending most of their time on the ground roaming around. The Giant Panda is a solitary animal. A female panda will not tolerate having other females in there territory. Giant Pandas can live 20 years in the wild, but in captivity they can live over 35 years. Females usually give birth to 1 to 2 cubs. Giant Pandas are excellent climbers and strong swimmers. Pandas also eat 16 hours day!
