The Asian Water Monitor is the worlds second largest lizard and is an incredible animal. The Asian Water Monitor can reach sizes up to 10 feet but are usually 4 to 6 feet. They weigh around 40 to 90 pounds males are usually significantly larger females. They can live to be anywhere between 11 and 25 years. The teeth of a Asian Water are recurved, serrated, and compressed. These teeth are essential due to there predatory diet and are a key defense mechanism. They eat young crocodiles, crocodile eggs, turtles, small rodents, and birds. it is a dark brown with blackish yellow spots. Asian water monitors have a few predators including humans and crocodiles. They mainly use there tails, jaws, and claws to defend themselves. They are incredible swimmers, using the raised fin on there tails they steer through the water.
